I had no idea this was even on the cards....

Most 40 channel uhf are wide band I assume?
This would be the reason to get everyone onto 80channel narrow band    Confusedeven:

Yes Number 7, 40 channel CB are wide band, 80 channel narrow band, and I too am surprised the ACMA are letting them co exist, as wide band radios will go over the top of certain channels on narrow band 80 ch CBs.

Oh well I don't think the ACMA care much about CB.
